‘Echo Spring’ is the new single and music video from Anglo-Indian artist Will Samson. Musically, it’s a beautifully textured mixture of folk and ambient electronics, with his melodic voice wandering between the sonic layers. The video seeks to explore the wider themes of ancestry that appear on his new album, Active Imagination. Samson explains: “As subjective as it is, I have always been curiously asked about my slightly ambiguous ethnicity and olive skin, never more so when I've visited both Nepal and India. Some have said similar things of my music too. That it is somewhat ambigious – sitting inbetween a couple of different genres and never fully settling in either. But to me, that space inbetween is a valid home to belong in – and one that deserves to be honoured and explored.” You can catch him live around Europe this summer. -Dan Peeke.
